About me
Jonathan Volzke is a community storyteller at heart, with a career spanning journalism and public affairs. As editor of The Daily Titan at Cal State Fullerton and later a reporter at The Orange County Register, he honed his ability to translate complex issues into compelling narratives the public understood. Founding The Capistrano Dispatch cemented his belief that understanding a community was key to building the trust and credibility critical to great journalism.
Moving to public relations, Jonathan brought those lessons to strategic messaging, tackling high-stakes issues like drought mandates and rate increases as a Public Affairs Manager. Now, as Communications and Marketing Manager for the City of Lake Forest, he leads media relations, resident engagement, and outreach strategies with two full-time employees and a $600,000 budget. His approach remains the same: clear, transparent, and impactful communication that fosters trust. At the core of it all? The power of a great story to inform, engage, and empower.
